About the Summit

The International Trails Summit is a joint event hosted by American Trails and the Professional TrailBuilders Association (PTBA) and presented every other year.

The 2023 International Trails Summit was the first jointly hosted event and its success built upon decades of American Trails’ International Trails Symposium and PTBA’s Sustainable Trails Conferences - and the partnership thrived during the implementation of the 2025 International Trails Summit. Every other year, PTBA hosts the Sustainable Trails Conference, a smaller more focused conference.

We aim to substantially increase the capabilities and capacity of trail volunteers and professionals, and support trail stewardship and advocacy organizations now and into the future.
